The coves of the Gulf of Orosei fall into three practical categories: reachable only by boat, reachable on foot via a demanding trail, and open to both. Cala Goloritzé belongs to the third, Cala Mariolu effectively to the first, Cala Luna to the third with a very long walk.

That distinction matters more than relative beauty. It determines departure time, kit, booking, and the risk of finding access closed because of weather or because the daily quota is full.

One general principle: none of these coves has facilities. Water, shade and food are carried in. Boats are not allowed to land everywhere, and the rules are updated by the municipality of Baunei season by season.
